Maheshwari will lead the company’s technology efforts as Honasa Consumer looks to expand the use of AI across its business.
NEW DELHI: Honasa Consumer Ltd., the listed parent of Mamaearth, has elevated Vipul Maheshwari to Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO), effective October 23, 2026, as the company plans to expand the use of artificial intelligence across its business.
Maheshwari previously served as Executive Vice President of Product and Data and was part of the company’s senior management team. In his new role, he will oversee product, technology, engineering, and analytics, with a focus on advancing Honasa’s AI-led transformation and its plans for agentic AI.
The appointment reflects the company’s intention to move beyond isolated AI applications and incorporate AI-powered workflows into its day-to-day operations.
Honasa Plans to Expand AI Across Its Business
Honasa Consumer is developing AI-powered tools and workflows to simplify complex processes, automate tasks, and support faster decision-making across its beauty and personal care brands.
The company is also exploring agentic AI systems, which can carry out multi-step workflows and coordinate tasks with appropriate human oversight. The aim is to integrate these capabilities into routine business operations and expand their use across the organization.
Varun Alagh, co-founder and CEO of Honasa Consumer, said technology had played an important role in the company’s growth and that AI could change how it builds and operates its business.
He said the company wants to move beyond individual AI use cases and develop connected workflows that help teams work with greater speed, precision, and effectiveness.
Alagh added that Maheshwari’s elevation reflects Honasa’s commitment to developing internal leadership and investing in capabilities for its next phase of growth.
Maheshwari Outlines His Agentic AI Vision
Maheshwari described the company’s direction as a shift from tools that provide information to systems capable of executing workflows, connecting decisions, and delivering outcomes.
He said his priorities include developing intelligent workflows, enabling AI agents to support multi-step processes with appropriate safeguards, and incorporating AI into everyday business operations.
According to Maheshwari, the focus will be on turning the company’s AI plans into capabilities that deliver measurable business results, improve organizational agility, and create long-term value.
For Honasa, the approach could bring AI into several parts of its operations, including product development, analytics, and internal decision-making. The company has not detailed specific deployment timelines or disclosed the expected financial contribution from these initiatives.
Who Is Vipul Maheshwari?
Maheshwari has spent around six years at Honasa Consumer, working on the company’s product and data capabilities. The company said this experience has helped shape its plans to incorporate AI into business processes.
Before joining Honasa, he held roles at logistics company Delhivery and Global Analytics India, where he worked on analytics and data-driven business solutions.
Maheshwari holds a master’s degree in mathematics and computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.
His appointment places product and technology leadership at the center of Honasa’s plans to expand AI use across its portfolio.
Honasa Continues Its Series of Internal Promotions
Maheshwari’s elevation is the third senior management appointment from within the company disclosed to stock exchanges since August 2026.
On August 6, Nilesh Kotalwar, previously senior vice president of online revenue, was elevated to chief marketing officer to lead marketing across Honasa’s portfolio.
On September 8, Nishchay Bahl, previously senior vice president of offline revenue, was appointed chief business officer for offline operations. His responsibilities include general trade, modern trade, and other sales channels.
Earlier, chief business officer Yatish Bhargava resigned in May, citing personal circumstances. According to a company filing, he ceased to be part of senior management on May 15.
The latest appointment continues Honasa’s pattern of filling senior leadership positions internally as the company develops its technology, marketing, and sales functions.
How Honasa Consumer’s Business Is Performing
Founded by Varun and Ghazal Alagh, Honasa Consumer operates a portfolio of beauty and personal care brands sold through online platforms and an omnichannel distribution network.
Alongside Mamaearth, the portfolio includes The Derma Co., Aqualogica, BBlunt, and Dr. Sheth’s.
For the April-June quarter of 2026, Honasa reported record quarterly revenue of ₹785 crore on a like-for-like basis, compared with reported revenue of ₹756 crore. Like-for-like revenue grew 31.8% year on year, according to the company’s results announcement.
EBITDA approximately doubled to ₹110 crore, representing a margin of 14.1% on like-for-like revenue. Profit for the quarter reached ₹90 crore.
The company also said The Derma Co. crossed ₹1,000 crore in annualized net sales value during the quarter, while its products reached approximately 300,000 retail outlets.
In a business update dated October 6, Honasa said it expected net sales value growth in the low 30% range for the July-September quarter. It projected growth in the high teens for Mamaearth and around the mid-40% range for its younger brands, with offline channels leading performance.
These figures were company-reported results and expectations. The July-September quarter’s financial results had not yet been announced in the supplied material.
November Results to Offer the Next Business Update
Honasa Consumer’s board is scheduled to meet on November 6, 2026, to consider the unaudited financial results for the quarter and half year ended September 30, according to the company’s exchange filing.
The results will provide a further view of the company’s financial performance as it expands its distribution network and develops its brand portfolio.
Maheshwari’s appointment adds a technology-focused leadership role to those efforts. The impact of Honasa’s AI strategy will depend on how effectively the company incorporates these systems into its operations, maintains appropriate human oversight, and translates its technology investments into measurable business outcomes.
