Himavant Kurnala becomes Instamart’s Chief Growth and Product Officer, Nitesh Garg takes charge as CTO, and Saurav Goyal becomes Food Marketplace COO.
Indian food delivery and quick-commerce company Swiggy has expanded the responsibilities of three senior executives across Instamart and its Food Marketplace business as the company strengthens leadership across technology, growth, operations and customer experience.
Himavant Kurnala has been appointed Chief Growth and Product Officer at Instamart, Nitesh Garg has taken charge as Chief Technology Officer, and Saurav Goyal has been named Chief Operating Officer of Swiggy’s Food Marketplace.
The appointments come shortly after former Myntra CEO Nandita Sinha joined Instamart as CEO, signalling a broader reshaping of the quick-commerce business.
Himavant Kurnala to Lead Growth and Product at Instamart
Kurnala has led Instamart’s product function since 2024, with his responsibilities later expanding into growth and brand marketing.
In his new role, he will bring product, growth, marketing and analytics under a broader mandate focused on customer value.
Swiggy said Kurnala has also worked on AI-powered search and personalisation, pricing and merchandising, Maxxsaver, multi-pod delivery, the standalone Instamart app and improvements across the supply chain.
Nitesh Garg Becomes Instamart CTO
Garg, who has been with Swiggy for more than seven years, was previously Senior Vice President overseeing engineering for Instamart and New Initiatives.
He has led Instamart’s engineering function since its early days, working on consumer technology and supply-chain systems as well as platforms for advertising, pricing, discounts and catalogue management.
As CTO, Garg will continue to oversee Instamart’s technology development and infrastructure.
Saurav Goyal Takes Charge as Food Marketplace COO
Goyal joined Swiggy in 2020 and has held senior roles spanning business finance, driver and delivery products, and operations.
He has worked on strategic planning, profitability and operating efficiency, and was also involved in Swiggy’s IPO.
Goyal also led the launch of Toing, Swiggy’s standalone affordable-meals app, which the company says is now available in more than 50 cities.
As COO of the Food Marketplace, he will continue overseeing driver and delivery operations while taking on responsibility for customer experience.
Leadership Reshuffle Comes After Instamart CEO Appointment
The latest Swiggy leadership changes follow Nandita Sinha’s appointment as CEO of Instamart earlier this month. She succeeded Amitesh Jha, who resigned on July 28 to pursue other opportunities.
Swiggy has also appointed Gautam Swaroop as Chief Business Officer of Instamart. Sidharth Bhakoo continues as Chief Business Officer of the Food Marketplace, while Swapnil Bajpai leads the company’s Dineout and Scenes businesses.
Swiggy’s Chief Human Resources Officer Girish Menon said the company has focused on developing internal talent by giving senior executives broader responsibilities.
The expanded roles give Kurnala, Garg and Goyal wider mandates across Swiggy’s two major businesses as the company continues to scale Instamart while strengthening its core Food Marketplace.
