GCC beauty creators visited Himalaya’s Global Research Centre in Dubai Science Park to explore the research behind its Neem skincare range.
Himalaya Wellness Company has brought GCC beauty creators closer to the science behind its Neem skincare range through its “Powered by Nature, Perfected by Science” experience at the company’s Global Research Centre in Dubai Science Park.
The 55,000-square-foot facility hosted digital beauty creators and storytellers from across the GCC, giving them an inside look at the research, formulation and testing involved in Himalaya’s skincare products.
Exploring the Science Behind Neem
The experience allowed creators to explore Neem skincare through molecular experiments and learn more about the research supporting Himalaya’s formulations.
The Dubai research centre brings together more than 50 scientists, formulators and researchers from 12 nationalities, with a focus on developing products suited to regional skin needs.
The initiative comes as consumers across the GCC deal with conditions such as extreme heat, humidity, dust exposure and frequent transitions between outdoor temperatures and air-conditioned environments. Extended use of sunscreen and makeup can add further skincare concerns.
Himalaya said acne and pimple concerns affect more than 65% of the GCC population, increasing interest in skincare solutions designed for the region’s climate.
Neem Meets Modern Formulation Science
Neem has been part of Himalaya’s herbal skincare approach for generations. The company combines its traditional herbal expertise with modern formulation research to develop products for consumers across the Middle East.
Sajeev Kaura, Business Director, CPD, Himalaya METAP Region, said the Middle East remains an important market as consumers increasingly seek skincare products suited to their specific needs and supported by scientific research.
The company’s research supports its Purifying Neem range, which includes the Purifying Neem Face Wash, Scrub, Mask and Serum.
New Neem Serum Developed in Dubai
The Purifying Neem Serum was recently developed by Himalaya’s Dubai Science Park R&D team.
The formulation combines 10% pure Neem extract, 2% natural salicylic acid, and CICA and is designed for both day and night use.
According to Himalaya, the serum is clinically proven to reduce pimples and blemishes within one week while supporting healthier-looking skin.
The company says the range is designed particularly with blemish concerns in high-humidity climates in mind.
Focus on Responsible Sourcing
Himalaya’s research and product development efforts also extend to the sourcing of herbal ingredients.
More than 98% of the herbal ingredients used across its product portfolio are harvested from renewable plant parts. The company aims to increase this figure to 100% by 2030, with biodiversity preservation forming part of its sourcing strategy.
By opening its Dubai research centre to GCC beauty creators, Himalaya is putting greater focus on the research behind its products while connecting its long-standing Neem expertise with the specific skincare needs of consumers across the region.
