Chatterjee will lead brand expansion, new restaurant formats, and business growth across India and international markets.
Speciality Restaurants has appointed Avik Chatterjee as Chief Executive Officer, placing him in charge of brand expansion, new restaurant formats, and business growth across India and international markets.
Chatterjee previously served as Executive Director, Innovation & New Formats, where he focused on developing new restaurant concepts and formats for the group.
As CEO, he will oversee the company’s portfolio, including Mainland China, Oh! Calcutta, Asia Kitchen by Mainland China, Sigree, Hoppipola, Episode One, Sweet Bengal, Gong and Walters Burger, among other formats.
His priorities will include strengthening existing brands, entering new markets and developing restaurant concepts that respond to changing customer preferences. He will also focus on improving operational efficiency and using technology to enhance the customer experience.
“Specialty Restaurants has spent three decades building brands that customers consistently return to, and my role as CEO is to strengthen that foundation rather than reinvent it,” Chatterjee said.
He added that the company will continue investing in its core brands while expanding newer formats such as cloud kitchens, smaller-footprint restaurants and concepts suited to evolving dining habits.
Over the next three quarters, Speciality Restaurants plans to significantly expand its presence in Mumbai, supported by a cloud kitchen that will strengthen its delivery network.
Anjanmoy Chatterjee, Chairman and Managing Director of Speciality Restaurants, said Avik had worked across various parts of the business, including menu development, operations, format development and brand strategy.
He described the leadership transition as a natural progression, adding that he would remain closely involved as chairman while Avik takes charge of day-to-day operations.
The appointment marks a new phase for Speciality Restaurants as it looks to build on its established brands while expanding into newer formats and markets.
