The company reported Q1 FY27 profit after tax of Rs 228 crore, up 182.3% year-on-year, while revenue from operations rose 33.6% to Rs 2,714 crore.

Eyewear retailer Lenskart Solutions reported strong financial growth in the first quarter of FY27, with higher sales, improving margins and continued store expansion across India and international markets.

The company’s profit after tax (PAT) rose to Rs 228 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared with Rs 81 crore a year earlier on a pro forma basis. Revenue from operations increased 33.6% year-on-year to Rs 2,714 crore.

Lenskart uses pro forma figures to provide like-for-like comparisons following acquisitions, including Dealskart, GeoIQ and international eyewear brand Meller. The company said its pro forma and reported figures have been identical since Q3 FY26.

India and international markets drive growth

Lenskart’s India business remained a key contributor, with revenue rising 30.7% to Rs 1,531 crore.

The company added 116 net new stores in India during the quarter, including 83 stores in Tier-2 and smaller markets. It also entered 50 new cities. Same-store sales growth in India stood at 18.3%.

International revenue increased 38% to Rs 1,203 crore. On a constant-currency basis, international revenue grew by around 29%, supported by markets including Japan, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

Lenskart added 16 overseas stores during the quarter, taking its international store count to 734.

Margins improve

Profitability also strengthened during the quarter.

Consolidated product margin crossed 70% for the first time, reaching 70.3%, compared with 68.7% a year earlier.

The India product margin increased to 64.2% from 63.4%, while the international business recorded a margin of 77.1%, up from 75.9%.

Consolidated EBITDA margin rose to 21.7% from 18% a year earlier. On a pre-Ind AS 116 basis, EBITDA increased 95% to Rs 361 crore, with the margin expanding to 13.3% from 9.1%.

In India, pre-Ind AS 116 EBITDA rose 51.5% to Rs 236 crore. The company attributed the improvement to higher product margins and lower marketing costs as a share of revenue, partly offset by staffing costs for newly opened stores.

Customer activity and store network expand.

Lenskart conducted around 7 million eye tests during the quarter, up 39.8% year-on-year. India accounted for approximately 6.3 million tests, an increase of 42.7%.

Eyewear volumes increased 25.7% across the group. India volumes rose 22.8% to 8.2 million units, while average selling price increased 6.4% to Rs 1,856.

The company added 132 net new stores globally, taking its total active store count to 3,459.

Cash generation remains strong

Lenskart generated Rs 297 crore in operating cash flow, exceeding capital expenditure of around Rs 207 crore.

The company spent Rs 75 crore on stores and upgrades, including new outlets, refurbishments and remote optometry deployment. Another Rs 132 crore went towards manufacturing and other capital expenditure, mainly for its Hyderabad facility.

Its net cash flow before mergers, acquisitions and equity transactions stood at Rs 116 crore. The company ended the quarter with a net cash balance of Rs 4,104 crore, excluding IPO-related payables.

Return on capital employed increased to 23.2% from 14.6% in FY26, supported by stronger earnings and disciplined capital allocation.

Co-founder Peyush Bansal said in the shareholder letter, “We see our role as creating the market, not competing in it.”

Investors continue to sell stake.s

The results come after several secondary stake sales by institutional investors.

Temasek-backed MacRitchie Investments sold around 2.05% of Lenskart in July for an estimated Rs 1,940 crore, reducing the combined holding of Temasek entities to 4.75% from 6.8%.

In June, Platinum Jasmine A 2018 Trust, backed by the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, sold a 2.3% stake for Rs 1,960 crore.

Earlier that month, SoftBank affiliate SVF II Lightbulb (Cayman) sold a 3.25% stake through a block deal worth around Rs 2,873 crore.

With revenue growing strongly, margins improving and its store network expanding, Lenskart’s Q1 FY27 performance reflects continued momentum across both its domestic and international businesses.
