Led by 12 Flags, the funding will help Wippi expand its AI and engineering teams and develop more screen-free products for children.
Children’s technology startup Wippi has raised $1.2 million in seed funding to expand its AI and engineering teams, develop new screen-free products and grow its presence among families.
The funding round was led by 12 Flags, with participation from Warmup Ventures, Ventana Ventures and Ruvento Ventures.
Wippi plans to use the capital to accelerate product development, strengthen its proprietary voice AI technology, expand its engineering and AI teams, scale manufacturing in India and grow its direct-to-consumer business.
The startup also plans to add more characters, languages and original content to its platform, to reach more than 15,000 families over the next 12 months.
Building Screen-Free Technology for Children
Founded by Rishabh Singhi and Siddhartha Jain, Wippi develops interactive storytelling products designed to help children engage with technology without relying on screens.
Its product ecosystem combines voice AI, Character Cards, illustrated storybooks and Wippi Radio. Children can interact with narrators and characters including Ram, Krishna, Alice, Cinderella and Aladdin by asking questions, making choices and influencing how stories develop.
The company says its approach is designed to make storytelling more interactive while encouraging play, learning and imagination.
Rishabh Singhi, Co-Founder of Wippi, said the company wants children’s early interactions with AI to encourage curiosity and learning while giving parents greater confidence in the experience.
Focus on AI Safety and Product Development
Wippi said developing AI products for children requires a different approach to technology, safety and product design.
Co-founder and CEO Siddhartha Jain said the new funding will help the company strengthen its AI platform, expand its engineering capabilities and develop products in India for families in the country and overseas.
The company is also investing in manufacturing capacity in India as it prepares to expand its product range and distribution.
Addressing Screen Time Concerns
The funding comes as parents face growing questions about children’s exposure to screens and emerging AI technologies.
Rajat Agarwal, Partner and Managing Director at 12 Flags, said Wippi’s screen-free approach could give children access to AI while keeping the focus on creativity, interaction and play rather than passive consumption.
With the new capital, Wippi plans to expand its technology, content and product portfolio while reaching more families in India and international markets.
The startup’s focus on combining AI with screen-free storytelling places it in an emerging category of children’s technology aimed at introducing interactive digital experiences without making screens the centre of childhood play.
