How Two Dubai Teenagers Turned Their Mum’s Struggles Into a Business

A Decision That Changed Direction

In a small apartment in Jumeirah Village Circle, two brothers took on responsibility early. Badr Mesayri and Bandr Mesayri did not dream of building a business for themselves. Instead, they watched their mother and decided to help.

Their mother, Randa Alawi, spent long hours working in food catering while raising her two sons alone. As a result, the boys made a quiet decision: they would build something that could support her.

From Observation to Action

The brothers did not build 2B Brothers around business plans or market research. Instead, they built it around purpose.

The name itself carries two meanings. On one hand, it represents Badr and Bandr. On the other hand, it reflects the phrase “to be” — a promise to become providers rather than dependents.

At first, their mother hesitated when they shared the idea. After all, they were still students, and the responsibility was serious. Nevertheless, the brothers stayed committed and moved forward.

Building From Limited Space

The family started everything inside a small apartment that served as their home, workspace, and creative studio.

Despite the limited space, the brothers laid the foundation for their brand. First, they researched fabrics. Then, they chose 100 percent cotton that would suit the region’s hot climate. Finally, they designed oversized, unisex clothing that felt simple and practical.

They also set the price carefully at Dh150. In doing so, they tried to keep the clothing affordable while still giving it value.

Balancing School and Business

Even now, the brothers structure their days around school. Education comes first, while the business fits into the hours that remain.

Because of that, they divide their time carefully. Their mother also makes sure they stay disciplined with both their studies and their online activity. Although the balance is not always easy, they continue to manage it. Rather than treating the business as a full-time job, they build it slowly in the spaces between daily routines.

Facing Early Challenges

However, the market did not welcome them immediately. Many influencers ignored the brand, while others asked for free products without offering any support in return. As a result, the brothers worked hard without seeing much visibility.

One moment, in particular, showed how difficult that stage became. During Ramadan, their mother traveled across the city while fasting to deliver a shirt herself. In the end, the effort changed very little. The response stayed quiet.

Even so, the family did not complain. Instead, they kept going.

Momentum Through Small Signs

Eventually, the brand began to grow, not through a breakthrough, but through small moments.

Strangers started sharing their work online. People left comments, tagged the brand, and mentioned it to others. Little by little, those small signals created momentum.

For Badr and Bandr, those moments mattered more than major recognition. They showed the brothers one important thing: people were finally starting to notice their work.

What This Story Represents

2B Brothers is not defined by revenue or reach. It is defined by origin. A decision made inside a small home, shaped by observation, responsibility, and consistency. The structure is still early. The direction is clear.

Conclusion

Badr Mesayri and Bandr Mesayri built 2B Brothers as a response, not an opportunity.

The brand reflects a shift from dependence to contribution at an early age. Not scale, not visibility, intent, carried forward through action.
