The beauty retailer will acquire a majority stake in premium skincare brand Aminu to strengthen its beauty portfolio.
FSN E-Commerce Ventures, the parent company of beauty and fashion retailer Nykaa, has approved the acquisition of a 51% stake in premium skincare brand Aminu for up to Rs 32 crore in an all-cash transaction.
The acquisition, to be completed on a fully diluted basis, is expected to close by September 15, 2026. Nykaa also plans to acquire the remaining stake over the coming years under terms agreed with Aminu’s founders.
Aminu Founders to Continue Leading the Business
Founded in 2019, Aminu has built a presence in India’s premium skincare market with products including serums, cleansers, moisturizers, sunscreens, masks, and body-care treatments. The company also offers skincare consultations and supplies professional-grade products to salons and clinics.
Following the acquisition, co-founders Prachi Bhandari and Aman Mohunta will continue to lead the business.
The bootstrapped company reported a turnover of Rs 19.44 crore in FY26, up 50% from Rs 12.96 crore a year earlier. Nykaa said Aminu is a profitable business.
Nykaa Expands Premium Beauty Portfolio
The acquisition will strengthen House of Nykaa, the company’s portfolio of owned beauty brands, while expanding its presence in the premium skincare segment.
Nykaa described Aminu as a research-led brand with in-house product development capabilities. The company has developed more than 30 formulations using over 150 ingredients sourced from more than 10 countries.
Among its products is the Rejuvenate Eye Serum, which Nykaa said ranks among the platform’s bestselling eye serums.
Beyond direct-to-consumer sales, Aminu also supplies professional skincare products to brands including Bodycraft, Jean Claude Biguine, Truefitt & Hill, and Kaya Clinic, while training thousands of skincare professionals and therapists.
Nykaa Sees Aminu as a Strategic Addition
Adwaita Nayar, Co-founder and Executive Director of Nykaa and CEO of House of Nykaa, said Aminu strengthens the company’s long-term vision of building a portfolio of differentiated beauty brands.
She said the brand’s premium positioning, loyal customer base, and strong research capabilities make it more than a simple acquisition, describing it as an important addition to Nykaa’s beauty ecosystem.
Bhandari and Mohunta said Aminu was built around scientific research, consumer insights, and partnerships with global experts. They added that Nykaa’s scale, omnichannel presence, and understanding of Indian consumers would help accelerate innovation and support the brand’s next phase of growth in India and international markets.
