Founded by a mother-son duo, Kitchen Secret has raised ₹1.14 crore in seed funding to support its next phase of business growth.
Kitchen Secret, a preservative-free brand of ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook sauces founded by mother-son duo Renuka Kedia and Manav Kedia, has raised ₹1.14 crore in its first external funding round. The round was led by BeyondSeed, with participation from angel investors.
The startup will use the capital to strengthen its marketing efforts, expand inventory, increase distribution across quick-commerce platforms, and scale its business-to-business (B2B) operations.
The funding will support the company’s expansion across direct-to-consumer (D2C), quick-commerce, and institutional sales channels as it seeks to reach more consumers.
Kitchen Secret Revives Its Business With a New Product Range
Founded in 2016, Kitchen Secret was discontinued after facing challenges with marketing and distribution. Manav Kedia revived the brand in 2023 with updated branding, a broader product portfolio, and recipes developed in-house.
Since its relaunch, the company has introduced sauces inspired by Italian, Mexican, and Korean cuisines.
Kitchen Secret operates its own manufacturing facility, with a production capacity of approximately 500 kg per day. The company said it has sold more than one lakh jars and is available across over 500 Blinkit dark stores.
Consumers can purchase its products through the company’s website and online platforms, including Blinkit, Zepto, and Amazon.
Startup Expands Across Quick Commerce and B2B
Beyond its direct consumer business, Kitchen Secret supplies products to the hotel, restaurant, and catering (HoReCa) sector. It also offers white-label and private-label manufacturing services to other brands.
The company plans to use the new funding to expand its distribution network and strengthen its presence across consumer and institutional channels, while meeting its growing marketing and inventory requirements.
Manav Kedia, co-founder of Kitchen Secret, said the founders began without industry experience but with a shared interest in food and a belief in the Indian market for their products.
“We didn’t come into this with industry experience, just a love for good food and a belief that India was ready for it. Over the past three years, every day has taught us something new, and we’ve used each lesson to improve. Our goal is simple: to keep getting better until Kitchen Secret is the name people trust most for sauces,” he said.
BeyondSeed Backs Kitchen Secret’s Expansion Plans
Radhika Jain, co-founder and CEO of BeyondSeed Middle East, said India’s changing consumer landscape offers opportunities for brands that combine differentiated products with convenience and accessibility.
“Kitchen Secret has demonstrated the ability to build a distinct product portfolio and establish distribution across quick-commerce, retail, and B2B channels while remaining bootstrapped,” Jain said.
She added that BeyondSeed would support the company as it strengthens its market presence and scales operations, citing growing demand for convenient food products inspired by global cuisines.
BeyondSeed operates through a Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI)-approved Category I Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) in India, as well as a US dollar-denominated Category I AIF in GIFT City.
With the fresh capital, Kitchen Secret aims to build on its existing distribution, expand its reach across consumer and institutional markets, and strengthen its position in India’s growing market for convenient, globally inspired food products.
