The MrBeast Ghana village project in Ghana’s Eastern Region has added classrooms, teacher housing, and clean water systems.

Additionally, it provides school meals and a new health clinic for a community of more than 1,000 people.

A development project backed by MrBeast and the 1 Billion Followers Summit has been completed in a rural Ghana village.

Additionally, the MrBeast Ghana village project brings classrooms, clean water, healthcare, sanitation, and food support to more than 1,000 residents.

The project was carried out under the 1 Billion Acts of Kindness campaign, launched during the fourth edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit in January 2026.

The initiative was developed through a partnership between the summit and Beast Industries.

Beast Industries is the entertainment company founded by Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast.

Additionally, it received support from the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) and the Varkey Foundation.

The project focused on five areas: clean water, education, food, healthcare, and economic opportunity.

A Ghana Village Facing Basic Challenges

The community is home to more than 1,062 people and relies heavily on cocoa farming.

Before the project, residents faced limited access to clean water, sanitation, healthcare and adequate educational infrastructure.

The campaign said average household incomes ranged between $100 and $120, while child labor in the area approached 40%.

Education was particularly affected during the cocoa harvest season.

Children in grades four through nine were more likely to miss school.

Additionally, some left classes to work on farms, while others stayed home due to financial difficulties.

Healthcare access presented another challenge. Residents could previously spend up to an hour traveling by motorbike to reach basic medical services, creating additional costs and delays for families.

The campaign therefore adopted a broader approach, addressing several needs within the community rather than focusing on a single area.

New Classrooms, Teacher Housing and School Meals

Education was one of the central components of the development project.

The initiative included the construction and renovation of classrooms covering kindergarten through junior high school. Teacher housing was also provided to support staff retention and help schools maintain consistent teaching.

A school meal program was introduced to address hunger-related absenteeism.

The project also included community awareness efforts focused on child labor and the importance of keeping children in school.

The organizers said the combination of education, food, and community support was intended to address some of the factors contributing to children missing classes.

Clean Water and Better Sanitation

The project also expanded access to clean water.

New water systems were installed, while latrines and handwashing stations were added to improve sanitation and reduce exposure to waterborne diseases.

Electricity was also brought to the community as part of the infrastructure improvements.

Together, these measures were designed to improve everyday living conditions while supporting the wider education and healthcare initiatives.

New Health Clinic Brings Care Closer

A new health clinic has become one of the project’s most significant additions.

Residents can now access basic medical services closer to home instead of traveling long distances for treatment.

The clinic is designed to support the early detection and treatment of illnesses including malaria and respiratory infections, while providing more accessible healthcare for women and children.

Reducing travel distances can also help lower the financial burden on families and reduce the amount of time parents need to spend away from work when seeking medical care.

According to the campaign, the clinic treated its first 100 patients on its opening day.

MrBeast Worked With 20 International Creators

Donaldson worked on the project alongside 20 international content creators selected during the fourth edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit.

The creators participated in work connected to construction, education, healthcare, clean water and electricity.

Donaldson said the group decided to act after seeing the conditions facing residents during their visit to the community.

“When we traveled to the village with 20 international creators and saw the harsh realities the community faced living without healthcare or clean water, we all knew we had to turn this village into a model for radical change,” he said.

He added that the creators hoped to use their platforms to encourage people in other communities to support similar initiatives.

According to the campaign, Donaldson’s platforms collectively generate more than 62 billion views annually and reach more than 1.1 billion followers.

Turning a Local Project Into a Global Campaign

Alia Al Hammadi, Vice Chairperson of the UAE Government Media Office and CEO of the 1 Billion Followers Summit, said the Ghana project demonstrated how digital platforms could be used to support humanitarian initiatives.

Sunny Varkey, founder of the Varkey Foundation, also highlighted the role of education, healthcare and nutrition in helping children remain in school.

The campaign plans to document the development of the village through behind-the-scenes content, including footage showing the construction of the health clinic from its initial state through to completion.

Organizers also plan to distribute the story through a wider network of around 3,000 creators across 180 countries.

The aim is to use the Ghana project as an example of how creators, organizations and communities can work together on development initiatives that address multiple needs at once.

For the residents of the Eastern Region village, the completed project means new classrooms, cleaner water, improved sanitation, electricity, school meals and healthcare are now available closer to home.
