HONOR continues its rapid expansion, becoming the second-largest smartphone brand in the Middle East through innovation and premium devices.

Strong demand for flagship and mid-range devices drives HONOR’s rapid regional expansion.

HONOR has reached a major milestone in the Middle East, becoming the second-largest smartphone vendor in the region for the first time in the first quarter of 2026.

According to the latest Omdia Middle East report, the global AI device ecosystem company strengthened its regional position through rapid sales growth, an expanding product portfolio, and continued investment in retail and distribution across key Gulf markets.

The achievement reflects HONOR’s growing presence in both the premium and mid-range smartphone segments as competition in the regional market continues to intensify.

Strong regional and global growth

During the first quarter of 2026, HONOR recorded 25 percent global growth while achieving an impressive 73 percent year-on-year increase across the Middle East.

The company attributed the performance to stronger retail execution, broader distribution partnerships, and increasing consumer recognition of the brand throughout the region.

Its strategy of offering devices across multiple price categories has helped attract a wider customer base while strengthening its position in the premium smartphone market.

Mid-premium segment drives momentum.

One of HONOR’s strongest performances came in the US$300 to US$500 smartphone category.

The company reported 130 percent year-on-year growth in this segment, capturing a 24 percent market share and establishing itself as the second-largest brand behind Samsung in one of the region’s most competitive price categories.

The growth highlights increasing demand for smartphones that combine premium features with more accessible pricing.

Product portfolio fuels demand.

HONOR’s latest devices have played a significant role in the company’s expansion.

The HONOR 600 Series has delivered strong sales by offering flagship-level features, including a 200MP AI camera and advanced AI-powered photography capabilities within the mid-premium segment.

At the same time, the HONOR X9d has gained popularity among consumers seeking durable smartphones with strong performance at competitive prices.

In the flagship category, the company has continued expanding its Magic Series, including foldable devices designed to showcase the latest advances in design, battery technology, and artificial intelligence.

Expanding beyond smartphones

HONOR has also strengthened its broader AI ecosystem by introducing products across multiple categories.

Its portfolio now includes MagicBook laptops and MagicPad tablets, allowing users to benefit from a connected experience across smartphones, computers, and tablets.

The company says this integrated ecosystem forms part of its long-term strategy to position itself as a comprehensive AI device provider rather than solely a smartphone manufacturer.

Greater compatibility across ecosystems

As part of its ecosystem strategy, HONOR has focused on improving compatibility with devices beyond its own product range.

The company has introduced enhanced cross-platform features that support interaction with Apple’s ecosystem, including iPhone, Mac, AirPods, and Apple Watch.

Through HONOR Share, users can transfer files with a single tap, synchronise notifications, and collaborate across multiple devices, providing greater flexibility for consumers who use products from different technology brands.

Magic V6 prepares for launch.

Building on its recent momentum, HONOR is preparing to launch the Magic V6, its latest foldable flagship smartphone.

The device measures 8.75mm when folded and 4.0mm when unfolded in the white version, while weighing approximately 219 grams.

Despite its slim profile, the Magic V6 includes a 6,660mAh silicon-carbon battery supporting 80W wired and 66W wireless fast charging.

HONOR has also prioritised durability by equipping the phone with a 2,800 MPa Super Steel Hinge, IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance, and reinforced outer and inner displays.

The smartphone features a 6.52-inch external display and a 7.95-inch foldable internal screen, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor built on a 3nm manufacturing process.

Its camera system combines a 50MP main sensor, a 64MP periscope telephoto camera with advanced image stabilisation, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens, supported by AI-powered imaging features.

Strengthening its position in the regional market

HONOR’s rise to the second position in the Middle East reflects the company’s broader strategy of combining innovation, competitive pricing, and an expanding connected ecosystem.

By strengthening its presence across premium, mid-range, and entry-level segments while investing in artificial intelligence and cross-device connectivity, HONOR continues to position itself as one of the fastest-growing smartphone brands in the region.

With the upcoming launch of the Magic V6 and continued expansion of its AI ecosystem, the company is expected to further strengthen its position in the Middle East’s increasingly competitive smartphone market.
