The investment marks Dr A. Velumani’s backing of Prodoc AI, which uses artificial intelligence to help businesses manage leads and improve conversion.
Bengaluru-based healthcare AI startup Prodoc AI has raised an undisclosed amount in a seed funding round led by Dr. A. Velumani Family Office.
The round also saw participation from Dr. Kunal Shet and Parth D. Bhasin, both of whom were already users of Prodoc AI’s platform.
Founded by Asit Kumar Vidyarthi, CEO, and Raghuvamshi Thakur, COO, Prodoc AI is building an intelligence layer for hospitals. Its Agentic AI platform connects patient engagement, clinical, operational, and care workflows across existing hospital systems.
The platform helps healthcare providers manage patient acquisition, appointment conversion, care coordination, follow-ups, referrals, and day-to-day hospital operations.
Connecting fragmented patient journeys
Hospitals often interact with patients through multiple channels, including call centres, WhatsApp, outpatient departments, diagnostics, pharmacies and follow-up teams. Information from these interactions can remain spread across different systems.
Prodoc AI aims to connect that information and help hospitals turn it into actionable insights.
“A patient may interact with a hospital through a call center, WhatsApp, OPD, diagnostics, pharmacy, or a follow-up team, but these interactions often live in different systems,” said Asit Kumar Vidyarthi, co-founder and CEO of Prodoc AI.
“The opportunity with AI is to connect that context and make the entire journey more intelligent. We are building Prodoc AI so hospitals can move from simply collecting data to taking meaningful action for every patient.”
Funding to expand AI capabilities
Prodoc AI plans to use the newly raised capital to advance its agentic AI capabilities and increase the number of systems it can integrate with.
The company also plans to develop AI agents for complex hospital workflows spanning care coordination, patient engagement, operations and revenue processes.
The broader objective is to help hospitals manage the journey from acquiring a patient lead to converting that lead into revenue while reducing the operational effort involved.
Velumani backs healthcare-focused AI
Dr. A. Velumani, founder of Thyrocare, AVMLabs, AVMSmiles and AVMDiabetes, said the bigger opportunity lies in improving the conversion of healthcare leads into actual revenue.
“In healthcare, getting leads is relatively easy; however, converting these leads into revenue is tedious. Many leads get lost midway due to process fatigue,” Velumani said.
He added that this can increase customer acquisition costs while leaving healthcare facilities underused.
“Converting ‘Lead to Revenue’ needs intelligence or AI, where I believe Prodoc AI can reduce the Customer Acquisition Costs by 10 to 25% based on lead quality and pricing of services by enabling one resource to deliver the output of five,” he said.
Velumani also highlighted Prodoc AI’s focus on combining healthcare expertise with AI as a key reason for his investment.
With the new capital, Prodoc AI plans to deepen its healthcare AI capabilities, expand integrations and build more AI agents for hospital workflows as it works to improve patient engagement and lead conversion.
