Amit Jain, co-founder and CEO of CarDekho Group, replaces Sameer Dileep Nath, who retired by rotation and did not seek reappointment.
Jewellery retailer BlueStone has appointed CarDekho Group co-founder and CEO Amit Jain as a Non-Executive Non-Independent Director on its board, effective September 14, 2026.
The appointment was approved at BlueStone’s 15th Annual General Meeting and comes after Sameer Dileep Nath retired by rotation and decided not to seek reappointment.
Jain, who co-founded CarDekho Group, brings experience from India’s digital consumer and technology sectors to BlueStone’s board as the jewellery company continues to expand its omnichannel retail presence.
BlueStone Expands Store Network
Founded in 2011, BlueStone operates a digital-first omnichannel jewellery business combining its online platform with a growing network of physical stores.
The company added 12 stores during the first quarter of FY27, taking its total store count to 352 stores across 139 cities.
BlueStone now serves customers across more than 12,660 PIN codes, with nearly half of its stores located in Tier II and Tier III cities.
The expansion reflects the company’s strategy of combining its online reach with physical retail outlets in smaller and emerging markets.
Revenue Rises 49% in Q1 FY27.
BlueStone reported strong growth during the first quarter of FY27.
Its operating revenue increased 49% year-on-year to ₹737 crore.
The company also reported a net profit of ₹6 crore, compared with a loss of ₹35 crore in the corresponding period a year earlier.
The return to profitability comes as BlueStone continues to add stores and expand its presence across India’s organised jewellery market.
Amit Jain Joins as Board Member
Jain’s appointment follows the retirement of Sameer Dileep Nath, who stepped down after retiring by rotation and did not seek another term.
As a Non-Executive Non-Independent Director, Jain will join BlueStone’s board while continuing to lead CarDekho Group.
His appointment comes as consumer businesses increasingly combine digital platforms, physical retail and technology-driven customer experiences.
BlueStone’s Position in India’s Jewellery Market
BlueStone operates in India’s organised jewellery market alongside established players including CaratLane, Tanishq, Kalyan Jewellers, Senco Gold, PC Jeweller and Thangamayil Jewellery.
Its business model combines online jewellery shopping with physical stores, allowing customers to discover products digitally and access offline retail services.
With 352 stores across 139 cities and continued expansion into Tier II and Tier III markets, the company is continuing to build a wider physical presence alongside its digital platform.
The appointment of Amit Jain adds another technology and consumer-business perspective to BlueStone’s board as the company enters its next phase of retail expansion.
