Qualcomm Ventures’ Shadowfax Stake Sales Reach ₹341 Crore
On August 21, Qualcomm’s affiliate sold 75 lakh Shadowfax shares, equivalent to a 1.28% stake, for approximately ₹183.85 crore at an average price of ₹245.13 per share.
Together, the two transactions generated around ₹341.13 crore for Qualcomm.
The investor held approximately 1.32 crore shares, representing a 2.26% stake in Shadowfax, at the end of June 2026. The combined number of shares sold broadly matches that reported holding.
Qualcomm Ventures first invested in Shadowfax in 2018, participating in the company’s $22 million Series C funding round led by NGP Capital. Mirae Asset and existing investor Eight Roads Ventures also participated in the round.
NewQuest Asia Fund IV Sells Shadowfax Shares Worth ₹729 Crore.
Qualcomm’s latest transaction comes amid a series of stake reductions by existing Shadowfax investors following the company’s stock market debut in January 2026.
TPG-backed NewQuest Asia Fund IV has also sold shares through multiple bulk deals.
On October 6, NewQuest sold 40 lakh shares for ₹114.8 crore at ₹287 per share, representing approximately 0.68% of Shadowfax’s equity.
The transaction was its fourth major bulk deal since August. The investor had previously sold:
- August 6: 1.25 crore shares worth approximately ₹300.58 crore.
- September 8: 80 lakh shares worth approximately ₹200.02 crore.
- September 30: 40 lakh shares for ₹113.61 crore.
- October 6: 40 lakh shares for ₹114.8 crore.
Across the four transactions, NewQuest sold 2.85 crore shares for approximately ₹729 crore, equivalent to around 4.86% of Shadowfax’s equity. It held an 11.53% stake at the end of June 2026.
The stake sales have followed a substantial rise in Shadowfax’s share price since its listing. The company went public on January 28, 2026, at an issue price of ₹124 per share. Its closing price of ₹294.75 on October 12 was more than double the IPO price, although this does not establish the returns earned by individual investors.
Shadowfax Reports More Than Eightfold Growth in Quarterly Profit
The investor sales come as Shadowfax reports stronger financial performance.
The company posted consolidated net profit of approximately ₹65.4 crore in the first quarter of FY27, compared with around ₹8 crore in the corresponding period a year earlier.
Revenue from operations increased 64.9% year-on-year and 9.8% quarter-on-quarter to ₹1,358 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.
Shadowfax also reported adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of ₹67 crore, up 181.1% from a year earlier. Its adjusted EBITDA margin improved to 4.9%, compared with 2.9% in the year-ago quarter.
Following the results, the company raised its FY27 revenue growth forecast to 38% to 40%, up from its earlier guidance of 27% to 30%, while retaining its previous margin outlook.
Shadowfax Expands Its Logistics and Dark Store Network
Founded in 2015 by Abhishek Bansal and Vaibhav Khandelwal, Shadowfax provides third-party logistics services to e-commerce, quick-commerce and direct-to-consumer businesses.
According to its Q1 FY27 earnings presentation, the company covered 16,372 pincodes across India as of June 2026, supported by 5,095 operational touchpoints. It added 716 pincodes during the quarter as it expanded its geographical reach.
Shadowfax is also growing its quick-commerce operations through dark stores, which serve as fulfilment facilities for processing and dispatching online orders.
The company operated 47 dark stores across six metropolitan cities as of June 30, up from 15 at the end of the previous quarter. It aims to expand the network to at least 100 stores during FY27, which ends in March 2027.
The expansion is part of Shadowfax’s broader effort to strengthen its logistics services for quick-commerce platforms and category-focused online retailers.
While Qualcomm and NewQuest have reduced their holdings through recent transactions, Shadowfax’s financial results and expansion plans provide further context for the investor activity surrounding the listed logistics company.
