The investment is expected to create around 40,000 jobs across real estate, infrastructure and financial services.
Godrej Industries Group has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Haryana government to invest Rs 20,000 crore in the state, expanding its presence across real estate, infrastructure and financial services.
Announced on August 24, the investment is expected to create around 40,000 employment opportunities and further strengthen the group’s long-term presence in Haryana.
Godrej Industries Group currently employs more than 9,000 people in Haryana and has invested around Rs 12,000 crore in the state so far.
How Godrej will expand in Haryana
A significant portion of the planned investment will come through Godrej Properties, the group’s real estate arm.
Godrej Properties plans to invest an additional Rs 16,000 crore in Haryana by FY28. This would take its total investment in the state to around Rs 27,000 crore.
Godrej Ventures, the group’s real estate private equity business, also plans to invest Rs 3,500 crore in office infrastructure in Gurugram.
The overall investment is expected to generate more than 30,000 direct and indirect jobs, according to the company.
Pirojsha Godrej, Chairperson of Godrej Industries Group, said Haryana has emerged as an important growth engine for the group, adding that the company sees significant long-term investment potential in the state.
Godrej expands beyond real estate.
Godrej’s presence in Haryana extends beyond property development.
Godrej Capital, the group’s financial services business, has facilitated bookings of around Rs 550 crore in the state and operates five branches.
Meanwhile, Godrej Consumer Products has more than 250 rural stockists and 42 direct distributors across Haryana.
The group also spends around Rs 1 crore annually on corporate social responsibility initiatives in the state and more than Rs 10 crore on infrastructure projects.
Rakesh Swami, Group Head and President of Corporate Affairs, said the MoU reinforces the group’s confidence in Haryana as a long-term investment destination.
The group plans to continue working with the Haryana government to support development initiatives and facilitate further investments.
Haryana targets Rs 5 lakh crore in investment.
Godrej’s investment comes as Haryana steps up efforts to attract large-scale industrial investment.
The state government has introduced its ‘Make in Haryana’ Industrial Policy, targeting Rs 5 lakh crore in investments and 10 lakh jobs.
The policy aims to position Haryana as a hub for global capability centres, data centres, emerging technologies and advanced manufacturing.
The government has also introduced sector-specific policies covering areas including electric vehicles, semiconductors, renewable energy, green hydrogen, textiles and apparel, automobile components, footwear and electronic-waste recycling.
Other focus areas include data centres, global supply chains, electronics and future-ready manufacturing.
With Godrej Industries Group’s latest commitment, Godrej Industries Haryana investment adds another major corporate expansion to the state’s broader push to attract capital, create employment and develop new industrial and commercial hubs.
