MS Dhoni has invested in Kuku FM, marking a strategic move into the rapidly growing AI-driven content ecosystem.
Alongside the investment, he has also joined the company’s microdrama platform, Kuku TV, as a brand ambassador.
A Multi-Platform Storytelling Ecosystem
Founded in 2018 by Lal Chand Bisu, Vinod Kumar Meena, and Vikas Goyal, Kuku operates across multiple content formats, including audio storytelling, short-form video, and edutainment.
Its ecosystem spans Kuku FM, Kuku TV, and Guru, with a growing presence in theatrical productions.
The platform claims over 350 million installs and a content library exceeding 20,000 titles across more than seven languages, reflecting its reach across diverse Indian audiences.
Dhoni’s Bet on Bharat-Led Innovation
Dhoni’s investment is rooted in both product differentiation and founder alignment.
He emphasized his connection with the founding team, particularly their small-town backgrounds and their ability to scale a platform with nationwide appeal.
His endorsement reflects confidence in Kuku’s vision of building an AI-driven storytelling platform designed for Indian audiences while aiming for global relevance.
Rise of Microdrama and AI Content
Kuku TV has emerged as a key growth engine, crossing 180 million downloads and offering more than 150,000 episodes.
The platform releases hundreds of short-format dramas each month, leveraging AI to create content across genres such as mythology, futuristic fiction, and superhero narratives.
This format aligns with changing consumption patterns, where audiences prefer short, engaging, and mobile-first storytelling experiences.
Strategic Brand Collaboration
As part of the partnership, Kuku has launched the campaign #DhoniWatchesKukuTV, positioning Dhoni as the face of its content push.
The collaboration aims to strengthen brand recall while expanding reach across both urban and non-metro audiences, where Dhoni’s influence remains particularly strong.
Market Direction
Dhoni’s entry into Kuku signals a broader shift in India’s content ecosystem, where AI, regional storytelling, and short-format media are converging to create new entertainment models.
Platforms that combine scale, localization, and technology are increasingly positioned to define the next phase of digital storytelling.
