Reliance Consumer Products Limited has acquired Southern Health Foods Private Limited, further strengthening its position in India’s fast-growing health and millet-based foods segment.
Through this acquisition, RCPL brings under its fold the flagship brand Manna, a well-established name in Tamil Nadu’s health foods market with a presence in neighbouring states. For over two decades, the company has manufactured a wide range of packaged healthy food products.
Moreover, the deal adds depth to RCPL’s expanding foods and staples portfolio, which already features brands such as Udhaiyam, Independence, and SiL.
Strengthening the Millet and Nutrition Play
Southern Health Foods operates across categories such as millets, oats, multigrain products, health mixes, breakfast cereals, and dry fruits. Over the years, the Manna brand has built a strong presence in the emerging packaged food segment, including millet flour, baby foods, and multigrain drink mixes.
Commenting on the acquisition, T. Krishnakumar, Director of RCPL, said Manna commands strong consumer trust in Tamil Nadu’s health-focused foods market and continues to see visible traction in neighbouring states.
Importantly, the addition aligns with rising demand for millet-based staples and functional nutrition products across India. As consumers increasingly prioritise preventive health and clean-label foods, millet and multigrain categories continue to expand.
National Scale Through Distribution and Supply Chain
Going forward, RCPL plans to leverage its distribution network, research capabilities, and supply chain infrastructure to expand Manna’s availability beyond southern markets.
The broader strategy centres on scaling regional brands into national household names. By integrating Manna into its packaged foods vertical, RCPL aims to further strengthen its position in the fast-growing health-oriented staples category.
