Who Is Nitish Rajput

Nitish Rajput is a 36-year-old Indian YouTuber, entrepreneur, and digital commentator known for analytical videos on public policy, governance, and social issues. Born on 4 October 1989 in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh, he spent much of his early life in Rudrapur before moving to Delhi.

He holds a BTech degree in Information Technology from Gautam Buddha University. He also founded Pinega Infosystem and built a strong digital presence through long-form explainer videos. His YouTube channel has nearly 8.13 million subscribers, while his Instagram following stands at about 3.5 million.

Rajput positions his content as fact-driven and research-based. He has stated that he relies on RTI responses and publicly available documents to form his narratives. Last year, he said his YouTube channel was blocked in Pakistan during a period of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan.

Estimates place his net worth between ₹86.79 crore and ₹127.92 crore. Revenue streams reportedly include YouTube monetisation, brand collaborations, and sponsorships.

Why Eduquity Technologies Filed a ₹2.5 Crore Defamation Suit

Eduquity Technologies has filed a ₹2.5 crore defamation lawsuit against Rajput following a video in which he questioned the integrity of the Staff Selection Commission’s examination process.

According to reports, Rajput scrutinised the tendering process related to the Staff Selection Commission. He raised concerns about vendor selection, alleged discrepancies in turnover figures, and highlighted what he described as irregularities in the awarding of contracts for conducting large-scale competitive exams.

In the video, Rajput analysed the administrative structure behind SSC examinations and pointed to changes in rules and operational procedures. He argued that the concerns he presented were grounded in RTI replies and publicly accessible records.

Eduquity Technologies, a Noida-based human resource consulting firm, has responded through legal action, claiming that the allegations amount to defamation.

The Larger Context. Competitive Exams and Public Scrutiny

The controversy unfolds against the backdrop of intense public scrutiny around competitive examinations in India. The SSC conducts large-scale recruitment exams that affect millions of aspirants annually.

When influencers with multi-million audience question procedural integrity, the impact extends beyond social media discourse. It influences public trust in institutions, tendering systems, and private vendors involved in exam logistics.

At the same time, defamation suits of this scale signal how companies are responding to digital-era accountability. A ₹2.5 crore claim underscores the reputational and financial stakes tied to public allegations.

What Happens Next

The legal process will determine whether Rajput’s statements fall within protected commentary or cross into defamation. The case also raises broader questions about digital speech, investigative commentary on public institutions, and the boundaries between scrutiny and liability.

For now, Nitish Rajput remains in the spotlight. His audience continues to grow. The courts will decide whether his SSC critique withstands legal examination.
